I sent Mossberg International an email concerning the fireing pin problem and here is a reply I received.
Thank you for your e-mail. I will give you the serial
number for the firearms with the problem corrected. For the 12ga. The serial number is TR12046393 and on.
For the 20ga. TR20015092 and on. For the 28ga.
TR28005777 and on. And for the .410 bore TR410006194 and on.
Thank you.

slk12407,
I have sent a PM to the web-site administrator to have them make this post a 'stickey', so that it is always on the top of the forum.
Is there any way to change the title of the thread, so that it will say 'Silver Reserve' serial numbers??

If my SR falls under the bad firing pins should I just contact mossberg? Will they send them for free due to their mistake or do I have to pay for them?

I can't speek for Mossberg International. I would think it would be worth a chance to contact them and ask for new pins. I have heard that they have replaced them in the past

My experience was that they send them for free and are very nice about it.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but, yes all three of your guns fall below the point in time when Mossberg's importer fixed the problems.
12GA, any serial number lower thanTR12 046393
For your .410's, any serial number before TR410006194
Contact Mossberg they will either ask you to send them the shotguns and they will fix them for free (could take 8 weeks, or more). Or, you can ask them to send you new pins, which they'll do for free, but, you'll have to have them changed or change them yourself.
Good luck and keep us posted...

Call they're Service Depatment (1-800-363-3555) and talk to a person.....
Get their name and ask them to send them out ASAP.... folllow up and keep bugging the same person....
Seems like the 'squeaky wheel' gets the grease when dealing with their Customer Service folks...

Here is what I had to write today after calling every day last week....
All, I have been Patient, I am requesting my Firing Pin Status? I need to know when I am going to get them, I am tired of calling and getting the run a round, Do mossberg not care that I own three of these firearms and have a bad opinion about service after the sale? My Hunting season is starting and I have no Shotguns for most of my Family. When Can I expect them, IN MY HAND i do not give a dam about your problems importing them I want to know the FIRM date delivered to me.
Dean
And there reply. I must say this is after two Months...
We do apologize this will be send out by tomorrow by mail. Please expect delivery in 3-4 days. Thank you.
That just irks me that I had to get that nasty with Mossberg. Wish they could have given me a better experiance. Dean

Remember Mossberg 'contracts out' their Customer Service to Maverick Arms (they own Maverick, too). But since Maverick is located in Texas and Mossberg is located in CT, there might be a little 'out of sight, out of mind' going on...
M24shooter (an active board member) has been invited to Mossberg to discuss these (Customer Service) and other issues, you might want to send him a PM with your history so that Mossberg can address this too....

Well this was a frustrating post to see. I was under the impreasion that my gun was made AFTER the issues were solved. Looking at it now, my numbers are TR12042637. That tells me I got some bad information before.
Just something I will have to watch for. I recently purchased a different shotty, so the rounds count will be less in the future, but I will still have a bit of an uneasy feeling about it. I have several thousand rounds both on the skeet field and out hunting, no issues so far.

Call now and request them, If you dont know how to replace them a gun smith can do it in fifteen minutes. but you will at least have them on hand...
