Storyline:When Shiva, the son of Bahubali, learns about his heritage, he begins to look for answers. His story is juxtaposed with past events that unfolded in the Mahishmati Kingdom.
The movie is a sequel to 2015 release ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ and answers the infamous question of the year, ‘Why Katappa Kileld Baahubali?’. In Baahubali 2, Shiva, the son of Bahubali, begins to search for answers after he learns about his heritage.
Indian cinephiles must salute Rajamouli for his vision and ambition. He once again gives us our Benhur and Ten Commandments experience rolled into one. Of course it is CGI and VFX that grab you in your seat, but Baahubali also takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride. The romance between Devasena and Amarendra has the Titanic fervour. While the performances of the lead cast are all believable, it is Peter Hein’s action—with Baahubali doing the Van Damme split and some sweeps that set your spirits soaring.
After a long wait of nearly two years the movie begins on a spectacular note as flashback episodes roll in during the titles. The introduction scene of Prabhas and Anushka impresses. Majorly the first half deals with the love story of Devasena and Amarendra Baahubali and their marriage that leads the story forward to the answer of why Kattappa killed Baahubali.
The story is set in the fictitious kingdom of Mahishmati. The queen Sivagami, played by Ramya Krishnan, is on the verge of death as she limps her way out of the kingdom probably after an attack to seize the throne. She manages to escape the kingdom with her grandnephew, toddler Mahendra Baahubali, in her arms. She hands over the baby to a local tribe before submitting herself to the force of the river that she navigated in order to keep the baby unscathed.
